Valentine's Day Makeup

It's been a while since I have done a beauty post! I thought I'd do a post on the makeup I wore to a Valentine’s Day Charity event. I also wanted to show you two new products that I decided to try out! I had every intention of trying out a new foundation when my Teint Idole Ultra 24H ran out. No...I really did! I went to the shops in the hope of trying out the Chanel Perfection Lumière. Only to find they had, in fact, discontinued all the shades suitable for darker skin tones (I'll leave that rant for another day). Anyway I just went straight over to Lancôme and to my dismay my go to was sold out! The lady at Lancôme was uber nice and convinced me to get the Teint Miracle instead.

I have to say I was a little bit sceptical because I really love a matte finish to my makeup, however I decided to go ahead and get it and I am really impressed! The semi matte finish is much more flattering and the foundation glides on much smoother than the Idole Ultra. It has a scent to it so if you have sensitive skin it's probably worth getting a sample to try out first.

I also decided to get The Porefessional from Benefit as I have heard so much about it and the lady at Benefit did such a good job of convincing me (this is why I shop online... I can't say no!). The Porefessional is supposed to limit the appearance of pores. I can't confirm that it does that exactly because I don't really have large pores. It does however make your skin incredibly soft and the satin finish is an ideal base for your makeup. I'm really keen on trying out other primers so if you have any suggestions let me know!!

A POP of colour

Sadly we have reached the end of 'Monochrome Month', therefore I though it was only right I added a pop of colour to my blog. I decided to send my burgundy Charlotte Olympia's to a better place and have replaced them with these babies. I think I'm a little afraid of colour if I'm being entirely honest. It's almost as if I have a colourful shoes quota.

I picked these up over Christmas,  I really wanted the black suede Anouk's but they didn't have the 5" heel in Selfridges and these were on sale so I thought why not! Jimmy Choo now do 'Made to Order' monogrammed shoes so I will be doing some serious saving for the black ones. Until then I'm going to try and incorporate these beautiful shoes in to as many outfits as possible. Also, how gorgeous does Jourdan Dunn look on this Vogue cover!
